Republicans Join Obama

You have to wonder why Congressional leaders agreed on Thursday to grant Obama special authority to finish negotiating and to allow POTUS to 'fast-track' and ostensibly complete the world's largest trade accord since NAFTA. There are many odd things about the agreement, but the oddest part appears to be the alignment of the President with Republicans against a broad coalition of Democrats, trade unions, environmentalists and Latino organizations that perceive that the trade deal will harm American workers. As the current proposed bill stands it will unavoidably decrease the number of jobs for Americans.
